Will changing my motorbike end can invalidate my insurance?

I have the standard can on a ‘99 Yamaha YZF-R6 at the moment. If I change the can to a race can, don’t tell my insurance, and then have a crash, will the insurance company invalidate the insurance?

It "can" as far as the fine print goes, but whether or not you complied with the fine print it is for the insurers to prove that your alteration contributed to the crash. In reality a race can means you’re louder = safer.

I was showing a potential buyer my bike in my street, he asked for a test ride and i said i would show him the bike running. (because he might of just rode off on it) I rode up the street, turned around and headed back towards my house. A traffic car pulled up behind me and to cut along story short seized my bike for no insurance. I have no insurnace as i use the bike for enduro events that are on private land, plus the fact i have no entitlement on my licence due to it being 200cc.
I need to show a valid insurance document to get the bike back but I’ve phone loads of insurance companies but no one will cover my bike for me to get it back.
any loopholes or creative thinking will be gladly accepted

No loopholes - you will have to get someone else to insure it and get them to collect it once they have the correct certificate of insurance or cover note. They will have to pay the removal charge and the storage charges too

If not collected within 14 days it will be crushed. You will still be getting 6 points on your licence for no insurance and the matter will go to magistrates court as you were also driving/riding other than in accordance with your licence. This nearly always results in a 12 month ban now as the magistrates can do this even though the offences do not normally get you to 12 points on their own.

No tax on motorbike - can I still ride?

OK - I am not deliberately trying the break the law!

I insured my motorcycle from 1st April, rode it to the MOT station where it passed (I was told I was allowed to do this). I then was unable to tax it because the post office had closed and also because I still have not received my insurance papers.

Now I have tried online and it does not recognised the bike as having insurance. I am getting really angry with this - I am paying for insurance, want to tax it and can’t because the post-office is shut and the paperwork has not arrived yet.

If I just drive it on the road and explain my situation if/when stopped is this ok?
It was SORN for the winter and I am looking forward to getting it back out.

Phone your insurance, if you can’t tax online it’s their fault
As soon as it’s taxed online you can use straight away before tax disc arrives
If you ride with no tax police will fine you and give you points on licence even if you have tried to tax but can’t
not worth the risk as most police cars and a lot of traffic cameras have "Automatic Number Plate Recognition" and will send fine out automatically as soon as its spots you as they are linked to tax, MOT and insurance records so it tell if you are not covered

Motorbike insurance question (UK)?

ok i am planning on building my own motorbike from scratch. i did a little bit of research into insurance costs and i can’t seem to find any company that offers insurance for home built bikes. they all ask what make and model it is but how could i tell them that if i built it myself?

also any suggestions of companies that would insure a home build would be help full.

Essentially you will be buoilding a custom bike so you need to look at custom bike insurers not home built

Points on my license getting me down?

I have points on my license, 9 in fact. All happened within 3months after holding a clean license for 8years. 6 points were from driving with no insurance, but when the policy was sold to me I was told I could drive my mothers car 3rd party of my fully comp insurance policy that was in my name though this was not the case in reality (I was also over 25 at the time). I then after years of being careful managed to get caught by a speed camera trap giving me a further 3 points. Now driving is my life, my passion you could say (I should point out the fact I own 4 cars, 2 motorbikes and a go kart. All the cars are modified for using at track days and one of the cars is a kit car I built myself). Since these points I have felt so low, Ive even quit my job but mainly that was due to splitting with my girlfriend before I got the points. I really feel ive learnt my lesson but I have to prove this by waiting 4 years for the points to come off. Im considering selling all my cars etc and putting myself on the council housing list and just letting myself sink the thing I cant understand is why im feeling like this and why other people dont seem to understand. What caused my frustration was my insurance quote going from £820 a year to £1800minimum and most insurers refusing to quote me. I am also a mechanic/engineer so gaining insurance for my job is also difficult (i.e. road testing customers cars after repair, pick up and drop off etc) I know im not the only one in this type of situation but then most people dont have the motoring passion I have. Im 29 this year and I feel like I just have to sit on my arse for 4 years till the points come off so I can get back on track. Please offer me some words of wisdom on how I should deal with the situation. Thankyou

Labour have done a nice job in getting more and more law abiding citizens prosecuted for no reason other than to provide an easy source of cash.

Do you have any bank statements to show who you paid?
