what motorbike would you consider to be the best and cheapest 125cc for a beginning rider?

and i would be very helpful if you could tell me whether the insurance etc would be expensive or not and maybe put a link in?

Yamaha ttr-125. Although it’s mainly used for offroading purposes i believe it can be converted into a street legal bike.

kawisaki eliminator 125cc. It is street legal and tops out at about 54 MPH.

Nearly all schools here in Norway use the Yamaha Virago 125. They are often cheap bikes, easy to learn how to ride on and they are comfortable. Also, repairs and maintenance isn’t that expensive.
The Virago was the first 125cc bike I learned to ride on and I felt really comfortable on it, but I had driven a lot of tuned mopeds before.

I would recommend that you get a 10 year old bike so you wont be so upset when you drop it, after you have ridden for at least a year then you will be better able to decide which one you want

Cheap and cheerful(ish) CG125.

For insurance try ebikes or Bennetts, insurance varies by age, area and where you keep it.

A 4 stroke engine for starters – 2 strokes are quicker but need a regular rebuild.

Insurance – ask your insurance company – your after a bike that is LOW on the number of thefts in your area, most nicked 125cc bike in England a few years ago was the Kawasaki KX125 so it had the highest insurance.

Don’t be tempted in buying Chinese unless you only want it to last 2 years and then throw it away – FACT
