OK - I am not deliberately trying the break the law!

I insured my motorcycle from 1st April, rode it to the MOT station where it passed (I was told I was allowed to do this). I then was unable to tax it because the post office had closed and also because I still have not received my insurance papers.

Now I have tried online and it does not recognised the bike as having insurance. I am getting really angry with this - I am paying for insurance, want to tax it and can’t because the post-office is shut and the paperwork has not arrived yet.

If I just drive it on the road and explain my situation if/when stopped is this ok?
It was SORN for the winter and I am looking forward to getting it back out.

Phone your insurance, if you can’t tax online it’s their fault
As soon as it’s taxed online you can use straight away before tax disc arrives
If you ride with no tax police will fine you and give you points on licence even if you have tried to tax but can’t
not worth the risk as most police cars and a lot of traffic cameras have "Automatic Number Plate Recognition" and will send fine out automatically as soon as its spots you as they are linked to tax, MOT and insurance records so it tell if you are not covered

I’ve Passed My restricted License on a motorbike, I’m 18 and have been riding a motorbike on the road from the age of 16 and 14 on tracks.
I have just under 2 year wait before I’m to go beyond a 33bhp bike so I could do with help finding a bike to last me until then, my 125cc import just isn’t up to speed, reaches 55mph with a pillion… Bit disappointing.
I’ve been searching online for a nice looking, respectable priced 400cc bike as a 600’s insurance will hurt my wallet!
Can I have your help or thoughts on this.
Suggestions of people in the same situation as me?
What bike do you have, what kinda speed. Where can I get it and how much.
Cheers Also is there anyway to improve the proformance of a sukida 125-5 patriot.
Its japense and my current bike, Its a YBR 125 knock off really, and i’m fairly sure the parts fit my bike. So a simple sprocket change or exhaust maybe?
Advice on how to fit a sprocket and/or where to get them from?
Its a 4 stroke, can’t stand the sound of 2 strokes, not meaning to offend anyone!

Different laws UK compared to US- but you note insurance better at 400cc. Look at Yamaha 400cc- there about 30 hp in earlier versions close to 40hp in later one but I believe your shops have government approved restricting kits. I have a sort of rat bike CM400 Honda that I use for a training bike for others- has a43hp rating at about 8000 rpm, it will get up to 60mph+- at 5000 rpm, I have had it just above 7000 rpm a few times last year, indicating 100mph. 400 Kawasaki maybe? - not sure if they make that size now- friend in church has a 440 rated about 35hp. Your 125 a 2 stroke? - check exhaust ports and piping.
